PATEK PHILIPPE (For Hausmann & Co in Rome / Driver curvex - rose gold ref. 524), ca. 1937 Exceptional and extremely rare pilot's watch from the 1930s bearing the double signature at 6 o'clock of the famous watchmaker Hausmann & Co in Rome. It was worn above or inside the wrist during races. Curved rectangular case, stepped edges in 750-thousandths pink gold and one-piece clip-on back (punched, signed Patek Philippe and numbered). Bronze railroad dial painted black, baton hour-markers and applied Arabic numerals in pink gold, lancet hands in pink gold. Bracelet in crocodile (Crocodylia spp. CITES appendix II B) with period pin buckle. Extract from the archives of the manufacture dating from 2001. Piece produced in 1937 and sold in January 1938.
