Honoré de BALZAC. Set of two first editions in identical bindings: - Théorie de la démarche. "Cet ouvrage est inédit en librairie". Paris, Didier, 1853, in-16 bound in glazed half calf, spine ribbed and decorated with gilt fillets, double title-piece, jaws rubbed, marbled edges. Some brown spots. This pamphlet appeared as a pre-original in Europe Littéraire on August 15, 18, 25 and September 5, 1853, but is considered an original edition, published by Didier the same year. - Traité de la vie élégante. Paris, Librairie Nouvelle, 1853, in-16 bound in glazed half calf, spine ribbed with gilt fillets, double title-piece, spine ends rubbed, marbled edges. Some brown spots. One plate detached.
