De l'Esprit.
A Paris, chez Durand, 1758, in-4 bound in full basane, expertly restored at the spines, smooth spine decorated, title page.
With Privilege and Approval. Minor foxing.
Edition containing the "Privilège" which was suppressed after the condemnation of this book, censured by the Sorbonne as containing "all the poisons scattered in the various modern books", and without the cartoons, i.e. strictly in conformity with the original manuscript which Helvétius agreed to modify at the insistence of the censor Tercier. (Tchemerzine VI, p.188).
