Paolo SALVATI (1939-2014) - Lot 110

Paolo SALVATI (1939-2014) Blue tree, 1999 Oil on canvas signed lower left Size: 60 x 50 cm Trees occupy a central place in Paolo Salvati's work. These works are not simply realistic representations of trees, but deeply poetic interpretations, in which the tree becomes a universal and spiritual symbol. Salvati's trees are often isolated, planted in the midst of dreamlike landscapes, reflecting an inner quest or a form of poetic solitude. They represent human souls, rooted but always in search of spiritual elevation. The work presented here (The Blue Tree), emblematic of Salvati's work, features a solitary tree in bluish tones, with an almost dreamlike sky. It illustrates Salvati's quest for spiritual elevation and contemplation. Blue, often used by Salvati, symbolizes serenity, infinity and melancholy.
