Skunder Boghossian is an Ethiopian artist of Armenian origin, widely recognized for his innovative works that fuse traditional Ethiopian elements with influences from modern Western art, notably abstract art and expressionism. He has also explored spiritual and mystical themes, inspired by Ethiopian history and religion, particularly Orthodox Christianity. His paintings often evoke mystical scenes or symbols, and human figures, as in much traditional Ethiopian art, are of particular importance in his work.
