Anne FRANÇAIS (Châtenois 1909-1995). Painter, watercolorist, - Lot 19
Anne FRANÇAIS (Châtenois 1909-1995). Painter, watercolorist, pastellist and lithographer, creator and only proponent of the concept of "ionnisme" in painting after 1950, "ionniste painting", characterized by a hatched technique, and a new mode of expression she called the syncopated stroke. Set of original compositions and autographs addressed to Georges Giraudon, art critic for Nouvelles Littéraires and friend of the artist. Four original collages in Indian ink and black felt-tip pen of his "peinture ionniste", signed, addressed to the journalist at the time of his exhibition at various salons, entitled "Déflagration rouge" (1972), "Etincelles" (1973), "La Course du taon" (1977) and sans titre (1974), as well as two original compositions on paper "Immobiles Ionnistes" (sd) and "Pensée ionniste" (signed, 1974), all on in-4 pages. Attached to this set of works is an autograph letter signed by Anne Français, with original drawing, in which she evokes her worries: "For three years now, I have been making giant efforts to dominate a clownish battle against French administrations" (June 1982, 2 pages in-4); a signed typescript letter about illustrating an article for the Salon de l'Art Libre (October 1974, 1 page in-4), and 3 autographed greetings cards, also addressed to Georges Giraudon (1974 and 1986).
