[Spanish Campaign 1810] Pierre LAGARDE (Paimpol 1768-1848). - Lot 92
[Spanish Campaign 1810] Pierre LAGARDE (Paimpol 1768-1848). Intendant general of police in Portugal, great friend of Marshal Masséna, Prince of Essling, and General Foy. His letters are a veritable diary of military events in Spain and during the third Portuguese campaign. Three autograph letters, two of them signed, addressed to General Foy on June 4 and 30 and August 21, 1810, the first two from Madrid, the third from Ciudad Rodrigo. The letters give an idea of the friendship between the two men, as well as that between him and the Prince, and Lagarde's subjects and positions are clear-cut and of the greatest interest. 4 folio pages / 3 folio pages / 3 folio pages with wax seal and small lateral cut-out on last leaf.
