[DELAMARRE de MONCHAUX family archives] Robert Delamarre de Monchaux, a soldier, married Germaine Rabutté in 1930, in Evreux, and they had a son, Jean-Hubert, born in 1936. Robert's grandmother was Mathilde Lyautey, daughter of the Maréchal. The archive includes 4 signed autographs (1 card, 1 letter and 2 pneumatic letters, 3 with stamped envelopes) from Maréchal Hubert Lyautey, addressed to Robert in 1921, 1928, 1932, when he was bedridden, and 1929 respectively; a framed photographic portrait of the Maréchal with a signed autograph dedication to Robert in 1931; and two invitations, for Robert and Germaine, to the ceremony for the transfer of the Maréchal's ashes to the dome of the Invalides on May 10, 1961. The archive contains a small wood panel "Es ist verboten die gegenstande zu beruhren" (It is forbidden to touch objects) with the back handwritten by Robert, "A reel of film of Robert Delamarre de Monchaux aboard the Paris in winter 1928 in New-York harbor, accompanied by a visiting card stating "The first Delamarre to cross the Atlantic and visit America. 1928. Robert is filmed in this reel on the deck of the Paris in New-York harbor (USA) in winter 1928." Other personal papers include Robert's 1885 birth certificate, an annotated diary from 1930, a handwritten religious notebook, handwritten "diaries" for 1954-1955, 1958 to 1961 relating political events, numerous photographs (portraits, wedding album, class album, family vacation album, a photo of Germaine at the 1934 French Women's Chess Championship, etc.), her wallet with a key, her 1902 and 1953 identity cards, her 1933 and 1938 veterans' cards, a record of the upkeep of the Delamarre vault at Père Lachaise (they stopped paying for the upkeep in 1962), a book by Germaine's father, G. Rabutté, entitled "Le Prisonnier" ("The Prisoner"). Rabutté "Le Prisonnier de Gisors" (Evreux, 1911, paperback, 103pp.), and a few items concerning their son Jean-Hubert: 1959 and 1962 electoral cards, his hair in 1940, etc.
