[Revue] L'Assiette au Beurre. - Lot 82
[Revue] L'Assiette au Beurre. Head of collection from no.1 [April 4] of 1901 to no.156 of March 26, 1904, bound in 3 volumes in-4 half-chagrin, all covers preserved. Famous satirical magazine with contributors including Félix Vallotton, Charles Léandre, Alfred Le Petit, Jacques Villon, Caran d'Ache, Carlègle, Hermann-Paul, Chas Laborde, Jules Chéret, Géo-Dupuis, Kees Van Dongen, Kupka, Carlègle, Pierre Falké, Jean Émile Laboureur, Juan Gris, Démétrios Galanis, Nadar, Raymond Renefer, Albert Robida, Steinlen, Jean Villemot, Gabriele Galantara and Louis Marcoussis. Each issue comes from the original print run, with all plates as intended by their authors, such as the September 28, 1901 issue (Vol. 1) devoted to concentration camps in the Transvaal, where the plate depicting the Impudent Albion reveals a posterior grimacing Edward VII (the plate was re-edited and the mocked monarch's face covered with a cloth). Complete with supplements: "Le cas de M. Monis", n°7 bis, 8 pages, May 21, 1901, by Willette, "La Foire aux croûtes" by Paul Iribe and Ernest La Jeunesse, 32 pages, June 1902 (between n°59 and 60). Among notable issues, n°41: "L'argent", by Kupka, January 11, 1902 - n°48: "Crimes et châtiments", by Félix Vallotton, March 1, 1902 - n°88: "Bêtes et gens", by Benjamin Rabier, December 6, 1902 - and n° 108: "Esthètes", by Paul Iribe, April 25, 1903.
